Introduction
In module three, we will cover advanced management strategies in Sports Medicine. This will extend to some topics in UFCPI Level 1 and introduce new skills and concepts. Firstly, the concept of training load will be discussed with a focus on how managing this within an athletic population can prevent injury. Illness and infection are major aspects of time loss in sports, so this will be discussed in this module, along with spinal injury management and passive modality utilization. The final three units will cover topics around rehabilitation with an in-depth look at exercise prescription, return to sport testing, and advanced concussion management. By the end of this module, the reader will have understood what management techniques are used within contemporary sports medicine and how to apply them in a practical setting.
