2.0 SPORT SCIENCE INTRO: MODULE 2
Introduction
Training and performance improvements are a complex science with a multitude of principles and concepts which need concise attention. A clear understanding of the individual components of training and how these principles are interlinked to achieve the desired performance gains. The goal of all training programs is positive performance adaptations and the principles required are outlined in this module: training stimulus, fatigue, and recovery. Beyond these principles, this module will explain, outline, and provide practical examples of the principles of training load, both internal and external. Finally, the module will provide more specific training adaptations occurring in the body in the short term (acute) and in the long term (chronic) in response to training with the focus on different physiological systems.
