MODULE 2 INTRO
Introduction
Assessment is a fundamental process for sports medicine practitioners to gather information and identify impairments or dysfunctions across the vast array of conditions or injuries they seek to address. Failure to perform a thorough assessment can cause clinicians to miss vital clues to reach appropriate conclusions and formulate accurate diagnoses, which, in turn, can greatly impact the management and outcomes for the athletes they work with. As a result, it is imperative to assess and collect data to inform the next steps of injury or illness management in sporting individuals and use evidence-based practice principles to reach clinically-sound decisions. This module outlines key assessment principles.
